Glenrose is a blend of classic and modern – from its architecture to its community ethos – we nurture traditional community experiences while fully confronting the challenges and embracing the opportunities of modern urban life. Outdoor gathering spaces, embedded edible landscapes, a multi-faith meditative prayer room, herb and crop gardens, livestock, an active neighborhood watch…all nestled within Atlanta’s historic south side.
LIVE – LEARN – GROW – REFLECT
In our busy day to day lives, we rarely have the opportunity to take a moment to re-center ourselves. We run from one thing to the next, our minds preoccupied with the many competing priorities we are trying to juggle, and we barely have the time to stop and breath. That is why we have created a space for you to focus on yourself and put aside those other priorities for just a moment.
Welcome to the Soul Space, our technology free, reflection, meditation and creative space at Glenrose. The Soul Space features a large multi-faith prayer room, a small meditation / reading room as well as a Makers’ Room, where children and adults alike, can express their creative selves through drawing, painting, writing and more.

Located at the bottom level of the Business Office, the Wellness Center has a variety of fitness equipment to suit the needs of everyone: two treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, a weight cage, two training benches and a dumbbell set. We also have mats and an exercise ball for you to get in a great workout. The Wellness Center is open every day from 6am to 10pm for residents 18 years and older.
In order to increase access to books and forge community connections through reading, we have set up two Little Glenrose Libraries near our playground. In partnership with the Atlanta Public Library, the Little Libraries are stocked with books for all ages for residents to borrow, read and bring back so more people can enjoy them as well. Our vision is to have 20 Little Libraries sprinkled throughout the community, so every resident has access to wonderful books.
The Clubhouse is the multi-purpose room where we hosts most of our social and community gatherings. The Clubhouse is a fully renovated open room equipped with a full kitchen and fridge, tables and chairs as well as a library and reading corner. Our community townhalls, Sunday dinners, game nights and Community Board meetings all take place in the Clubhouse. The space is also available for residents and guests to rent for their private function. To learn more about our rental policy, please contact the Leasing Office.
In order to promote food justice and farm to table eating in our community, Glenrose Gardens has an organic garden, a fruit orchard, a chicken coop and 2 goats. The garden provides seasonal produce such as greens, cabbage, tomatoes and more. With our chicken coop, our residents have access to fresh eggs every week at a discount price and we look forward to having goat milk and fruits to share. The farm is a unique space in our urban setting where all residents have the opportunity to reconnect with nature and eat the fruit of their labor.
At Glenrose, our Block Parties are an extension of all the programming we do. Bringing together family, food, music, sports and vending, it is an afternoon of fun, learning and community building. Some highlights of the Block Party include: free hot dogs fresh from the grill, fish fry plates, popcorn, cotton candy, face paint and science experiments for the young ones, a bounce house, a relay race, and an outdoor movie screening on the Green.
There is nothing like sharing a meal with neighbors to bring a deep sense of community. Every Sunday, residents get together in the Clubhouse, bring meals or desserts to share for dinner and get to know each other better.
The potluck style dinner is a heartwarming moment of the week, where residents young and old, get together over delicious food and animated conversations.
Every Saturday is Farm Day at Glenrose Gardens. Residents volunteer to help plant and harvest produce as well as clean the garden and the farm. They help grow food for our community but also learn how they can grow food of their own. The harvested produce is served at our weekly Sunday dinners or distributed to residents. It is also sold at our Farmers’ Market, organized every quarter as part of the Block Party.
